Arrow is a franchised distributor that sources products directly from original component manufacturers (OCMs). As a result, all deliveries are fully traceable back to the manufacturer, helping ensure product authenticity and mitigate counterfeit risk.

Selecting the right component starts with understanding your technical requirements, environmental conditions, compliance needs, program lifecycle, and budget. Arrow's engineering and sourcing teams help customers evaluate component offerings from multiple suppliers on our broad line card, identifying solutions that align with mission requirements.

Once components have been selected, you can request a quote by searching for parts online, uploading a Bill of Materials (BOM) or working directly with an Arrow representative.

For more complex programs, we can also help identify alternatives, assess supply chain risks, and support long-term availability planning. Need help getting started? Contact us to get started.

Verifying these certifications helps ensure products are sourced through organizations that maintain aerospace-focused quality management processes.

Arrow maintains the following aerospace and defense-related quality management certifications:

AS9120 Rev. B / ISO 9001:2015

Arrow's aerospace distribution operations are certified to AS9120, the aerospace industry quality management standard for distributors. For example, the Reno, Nevada facility is certified for the distribution of military and commercial semiconductors, passive components, connectors, and related value-added services.

AS9100

Certain Arrow value-added and manufacturing facilities maintain AS9100 certification, which is the internationally recognized quality management standard for aerospace manufacturers and service providers.

ISO 9001:2015

Arrow maintains ISO 9001-certified Quality Management Systems across various global operations. ISO 9001 serves as the foundation for many aerospace-specific quality standards, including AS9100 and AS9120.

Arrow's quality program emphasizes regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, supplier quality management, and product traceability. Arrow can also provide applicable quality documentation, including certificates of conformity and facility-specific certifications, upon request.

Yes. Arrow helps customers evaluate mission requirements and select appropriate commercial, radiation-tolerant, or radiation-hardened components. The right component for an application depends on the mission profile, including orbit, mission duration, radiation exposure, and reliability requirements.

Arrow offers solutions from multiple suppliers across the spectrum, from radiation-hardened and radiation-tolerant devices to commercial and automotive-grade components. Our engineering teams work with leading manufacturers to identify solutions that balance performance, reliability, availability, and budget.

Arrow is registered with The Office of Defense Trade Controls Compliance (DTCC) as compliant to International Traffic in Arms Regulation (ITAR). Arrow Electronics supports the sourcing, management, and delivery of ITAR-controlled and military-qualified components through our dedicated Aerospace & Defense organization, specialized compliance resources, and established quality processes.

Our capabilities include:

ITAR Compliance Support – Assistance with identifying and managing ITAR-controlled components and associated compliance requirements.

Export Licensing Guidance – Support for international shipments requiring export authorization and regulatory review.

Military & Aerospace Quality Controls – Processes designed to support military specifications, aerospace requirements, DPAS-rated orders, and customer flow-down requirements.

Secure Handling of Technical Data – Controlled processes for managing ITAR-regulated drawings, documentation, and technical information.

Traceability & Counterfeit Risk Mitigation – Robust supply chain controls, product traceability, and counterfeit prevention practices to help ensure authenticity and compliance.

Specialized Aerospace & Defense Expertise – Dedicated teams experienced in supporting defense, aerospace, government, and mission-critical programs.

A robust aerospace supply chain starts with authorized sourcing, supplier qualification, component traceability, and proactive lifecycle planning. Long program lifecycles make visibility and risk management especially important.

Arrow helps aerospace companies strengthen supply chain resilience through franchised sourcing, lifecycle monitoring, inventory strategies, alternate sourcing options, and obsolescence planning. Our specialists collaborate with customers to identify risks early and develop strategies that support continuity of supply.

Additionally, SiliconExpert specializes in supply chain risk management, helping organizations build resilience into their supply chains from the outset while continuously monitoring risk throughout production. For Aerospace & Defense customers, qualifying new components and alternate sources is often a lengthy and complex process.

SiliconExpert helps organizations identify and qualify resilient alternatives in advance, assess foreign sourcing risk, stay informed of tariff impacts, support export compliance/sanctions, respond quicker to global events, monitor raw material & availability risks, and gain visibility into secondary market trends. Different teams are needed to respond efficiently and SiliconExpert helps break down silos between engineering and supply chain teams, enabling faster, more informed decision-making and improved operational resilience.

Defense programs often require specialized expertise in embedded component design with long-term lifecycle, supply chain, and environmental considerations. Collaborating with experienced technical partners can reduce development risk and accelerate time to market.

Arrow provides design and engineering support from concept through production. Our teams help customers evaluate technologies, optimize architectures, and identify components that meet performance, reliability, and mission requirements. Contact us to get started.

Aerospace and defense programs often remain active long after electronic components reach end-of-life, making proactive obsolescence management essential. SiliconExpert is a trusted tool within the DMSMS community, offering a proprietary lifecycle forecasting algorithm that helps organizations identify EOL risks early, plan future technology refreshes, and proactively monitor components for lifecycle changes throughout production. When risks are identified, the platform recommends replacement options, helps qualify additional backup sources, and enables teams to plan last-time buys before components become unavailable.

Government and defense programs often require organizations to navigate complex procurement, compliance and supply chain requirements that extend far beyond simply purchasing components from an authorized source. These requirements can vary by contract, customer, geography, and end application, creating challenges for organizations operating across global supply chains.

Arrow helps customers manage this complexity by combining secure sourcing practices with deep aerospace and defense expertise. Our teams collaborate closely with customers to understand program-specific requirements, identify appropriate sourcing strategies, and guide them through the compliance, quality and supply chain considerations that support mission-critical programs. By leveraging our global supplier relationships and specialized A&D knowledge, customers can reduce risk, improve procurement efficiency, and source semiconductors with confidence.

Cybersecurity requirements continue to evolve across the defense industry, with frameworks such as CMMC in the United States and Cyber Essentials in the United Kingdom establishing expectations for protecting sensitive information. Organizations supporting defense programs are often required to implement controls to safeguard customer, contract, and program data.

Arrow continues to invest in strengthening its cybersecurity capabilities across its global operations to support applicable customer, regulatory and contractual requirements. Where required by a specific program or contract, Arrow assesses applicable requirements to support alignment with the relevant framework and collaborates directly with customers to confirm scope, controls, and documentation. Customers with questions about requirements for a particular program are encouraged to contact their Arrow representative.
