History

Nexperia’s history traces back to the 1920s through the origins of Mullard (vacuum tubes, transistors) and Valvo (electron tubes), later becoming part of Philips’ growing semiconductor activities. Over the decades, the company expanded globally, introduced landmark technologies such as the SOT23 package, LFPAK, and advanced wafer production lines, and achieved massive increases in annual device output. In recent years, Nexperia became an independent brand in 2017, was acquired by Wingtech Technology, launched ITEC as a separate entity, and continued expanding through initiatives like the acquisition of NOWI. Today Nexperia continues to empower global electronics with highly efficient, reliable semiconductor solutions built on innovation, sustainability, and world‑class manufacturing standards.
