Cybersecurity is one of the most critical components of modern business operations. However, it's a mistake to think of it as a one-time solution. Effective cybersecurity solutions require a continuous approach that evolves alongside the constantly changing cyber landscape.
One of the reasons cybersecurity solutions are not ‘set and forget’ is that businesses have unique needs that must be addressed with tailored solutions. Simply installing a cybersecurity solution is not enough. Businesses need to take a proactive approach to ensure that they're getting the most out of their solution by fully adopting it and customising it to their specific needs.
It's important to note that businesses must not only implement a cybersecurity solution - but also ensure that it is used effectively.
Security teams and administrators should be trained and familiar with each solution to ensure that the solution is being adopted and maintained to suit the business needs. This familiarity will also provide improved anticipation in an attack scenario.
Our daily newsfeeds highlight how security controls are not blocking cyber-attacks. The solution regularly takes the blame, when in fact, the blame lies at the door of misconfiguration or a general lack of configuration.
In most cases, the existing solution is perfectly capable, but is replaced by the Next-(Gen)-Best-Thing! Further to the damage caused by an attack, trust in a solution and the partner is often collateral damage. The journey of expected recurring revenue stops, and the value is lost. Unfortunately, the same results occur with any replacement solution unless suitable training and suitable configuration is applied.
The crucial point here is for the partner and end-customer to maintain visibility of the product lifecycle, such as new versions and feature updates, and to precisely implement these new features in line with business and security needs.
With the new Arrow and Broadcom cybersecurity aggregator partnership, we can now bring our partners and customers closer to the lifecycle and value of Symantec’s solutions.
Enabling our partners on the Symantec portfolio ensures that end-customers can reap the rewards of product adoption and ensures that each solution is configured with each customer in mind. Arrow also maintains communication with partners and end-customers throughout the lifecycle of the product.
We provide assistance with the following:
Further to this, Symantec now provides a portfolio to move with the customer on their IT business journey, from on-premises to cloud, or using a hybrid model.
Symantec’s product development has increased dramatically since the acquisition by Broadcom, with unique features such as ‘Adaptive Protection’ automatically recommends best practice for the use of applications across your environment.
They require ongoing assessment, adaptation, and customisation to meet the unique needs of businesses. Our partners must take a proactive approach by customising these solutions for the end-customer business.
By doing so, businesses can minimise their risk of cyber-attacks and ensure that they're getting the best out of their cybersecurity solution.
