WEEE and RoHS
Where producer responsibilities for electrical and electronic equipment (EEE) apply to Arrow ECS, Arrow ECS passes all such obligations to the B2B end user when this EEE is discarded as waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE). The B2B end user, in accordance with the Arrow ECS WEEE collections policy (as outlined in our General Terms and Conditions of sale), must finance collection, treatment, recycling, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of this EEE when it is discarded as WEEE in the UK.
Arrow ECS only supplies products which are RoHS compliant.
Please see below our official customer letter of this communication:
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2006 (WEEE)
We are writing to explain the Arrow ECS (UK) position on waste electrical and electronic goods (WEEE).
We are sure you will already know, the WEEE regulations oblige the producer of electrical or electronic goods (EEE) to collect and recycle or dispose of in an environmentally sound manner, the EEE when it is becomes waste (WEEE). Where the manufacturer has not taken this responsibility on itself, this obligation will fall to Arrow ECS.
Our WEEE registration number is IDWEEE/CK0524WV.
However, clause 9.2 of the regulations allows a producer, in this case Arrow ECS, the opportunity to make alternative arrangements. Specifically, this allows us to pass the producer obligations to the business end user (B2B end user).
Therefore, where producer responsibilities for EEE apply to Arrow ECS, Arrow ECS passes all such obligations to the B2B end user when this EEE is discarded as WEEE. The B2B end user, in accordance with the Arrow ECS WEEE collections policy (as outlined in our General Terms and Conditions of Sale), must finance collection, treatment, recycling, recovery and environmentally sound disposal of this EEE when it is discarded as WEEE in the UK.
We do hope that our position is clear but if you should have any queries then please do not hesitate to contact us -Â info.ecs.uk@arrow.com.
