About HiveIO Virtualization for VDI With Intel Data Center Blocks

This solution play is comprised of HiveIO’s Hive Fabric on Intel® Data Center Blocks, using an all-in-one VDI platform that deploys in less than one hour. HiveIO offers the industry’s only integrated single-install VDI solution.

Arrow works with HiveIO and its partners to deploy the platform in three configuration types:

  • Running purely on-premises with HiveIO on a private network/cloud (the most widely used deployment for customers wanting to deploy Hive Fabric)
  • Delivering HiveIO's Hive Fabric as part of a hybrid cloud solution
  • Deploying in a public cloud working with HiveIO cloud partners

How Arrow’s solution play can benefit your customers

  • A more efficient end-user desktop management: With HiveIO VDI, one IT staff member can manage hundreds, if not thousands, of users. Their desktops will be based on a standard set of templates, and IT will know exactly how each of the virtual desktops are configured.
  • Dramatic IT cost reduction and savings: Organizations no longer need to purchase high-end desktops and laptops. A low-cost $100 chromebook can function better than a very expensive laptop, because the virtual machine is running in a data center with lots of computing resources available to it. Further cost savings will come from less IT resources requirements, less expensive data center computing (as HiveIO runs on any x86 machine), and improved business processes.
  • Limited business-impacting disruptions: With consistent desktops and access to applications, users will naturally be immune to software viruses, application performance issues, and general desktop support issues — driving improved business uptime and business continuity.

Customer pain points

Business decision-makers

  • IT staff cannot scale to manage many endpoint computers.
  • The cost of running IT operations is going up.
  • In the face of a remote workforce, business continuity is becoming an issue.
  • The business can’t scale with the remote workforce and all the complexities of endpoint computing.

Technical decision-makers

  • A remote workforce requires access to specialized software and systems that is only available on desktop machines.
  • The team requires more consistency in the way people use computers.
  • They need to better understand how people are using endpoint computers.
  • There is an inability to scale the IT team to support a larger remote workforce.
