Connector terminals can refer to any point in the continuous conductive routing where there is a break of connection. A bare stripped wire can be a terminal, but, fortunately, there are many superior options available to use beyond wire terminal connectors. These include: right angle terminal connectors, button terminal connectors, push-on terminal connectors, and more. A terminal typically refers to the end of a single signal or wire, so it differs in complexity and scope from some of the larger connecting devices with multiple channels. In fact, it could be said that each pin in a large connector is a unique terminal. A typical terminal plug is connected to the end of a wire in some fashion, by solder, crimp, screws, or weld. These terminals are usually designed to provide a simple and easy means of connecting conductive breaks to other devices or terminals, thus ensuring a continuous flow of electric signal. Car battery terminals are a ubiquitous version of this, with two lead post terminals connecting to two terminal clamps. Terminals can also refer to access points, locations that can be tapped to send or collect data.
