3M offers connectors, cables, and assemblies for high-speed, high-density input/output applications in three major standards that cross the spectrum of machine vision.

Camera Link:

This widely adopted, proven standard is excellent for applications requiring mid-range data rates and system costs. As one of the originators of the Camera Link standard, 3M is a longstanding leader in the supply of cable systems specifically for machine vision. We provide a very wide range of products, including half-pitch Miniature Delta Ribbon (MDR) and smaller Shrunk Delta Ribbon (SDR) connectors for CL and Mini CL applications, a variety of board-mount connectors, and Power over Camera Link (PoCL) cables for nearly any machine vision configuration.

CoaXpress®:

3M offers two types of cables that meet the CoaXpress 2.0 standard for high-speed, long-distance camera connectivity. Our core cable delivers up to 8 m transmission distance (CXP-12) and up to 13 m (CXP-6) with repeated bending durability >10 million cycles. Additionally, our high-performance cable provides up to 10 m transmission distance (CXP-12) and up to 14 m (CXP-6) with repeated bending durability >45 million cycles.

USB3 Vision®:

This standard caters to applications requiring efficient data rates, shorter transmission distances, and lower system costs. USB3 Vision applications typically involve relatively short cable-to-component connections. Longer USB3 Vision cables that maintain the performance of shorter cables at greater distances add flexibility to configure machine vision systems to exact needs, often at a lower cost. 3M offers strong transmission distance, far beyond USB3 Vision® standard requirements – up to and beyond 10 meters for stationary cables, depending on the system requirements, and up to 7 meters for cables tested to repetitive motion exceeding 100 million cycles.
