LED Modules

An LED module is a nifty gadget designed to be self-contained to function independently or to be added to a complimentary unit. It is made of parts constructed to produce light from a light emitting diode (LED). Such parts are the LED laden circuit boards, heat, electrical and mechanical interfaces, LED drive and control electronics.Unlike conventional light bulbs that reply on filaments, LED modules rely on electrically charged semiconductors. The colors emitted rely on the type of material used. These semiconductors are grown in series of layers upon a crystalline substance called substrate. Red, yellow and orange LEDs are derivative of the substrate: gallium arsenide. Its particles are arranged in the same fashion as the layers atop of it. Little mechanical strain is imposed on the semiconductor’s crystalline lattice during manufacturing; hence there are fewer glitches hindering light formation. Blue and green LEDs use gallium nitride for their elementary semiconductor.LEDs modules are favored for their environment-friendly fixtures. A well-designed LED unit consumes less power while emitting the same amount of light as conventional units.Such modules have been increasingly available in the forms of jewelry, concert gadgets (e.g. glowing wands and sunglasses), and faux candles for entertainment rather than just conventional lighting purposes.
