MDBT Bluetooth Shield Board
Description
Add a powerful and easy-to-use Bluetooth Low Energy to you next Arduino/electronics project. It connects easily to an Arduino board or other microcontrollers using the hardware SPI interface (MISO, MOSI, SCK) plus a chip select line (default D8), interrupt line (default D7) and reset (default D4).
The Bluefruit will act like a data pipe that can "transparently" transmit back and forth from iOS or Android devices. Adafruit has even provided an iOS App or Andorid App to get started quickly.
Some of the applications the Bluefruit can be used includes:
• Can act like an HID Keyboard
• Can become a BLE Heart Rate Monitor
• Built in over-the-air bootloading capability so it can keep you updated with the newest firmware
Features:
• ARM Cortex M0 core running at 16MHz
• 256KB flash memory, 32KB SRAM
• Transport: SPI at 4MHz with HW IRQ (5 pins required)
• 5V-safe inputs (Arduino Uno friendly, etc.)
• Bootloader with support for safe OTA firmware updates
• Easy AT command set to get up and running quickly
