Test Clips, Leads and Probes - End Connectors

Electronic test equipment includes an enormous array of equipment, some commonly used are multi-meters, oscilloscopes, variable power supplies, and signal generators. The connectors for these devices are relatively ubiquitous; we’ll talk about the two most common here. Most differing connectors are merely slight modifications of the below designs.Banana connectors are designed to be used with single wires to provide a connection for one signal or voltage. They consist of a large banana plug (usually 4mm), a flexible extension on the plug for a friction hold in place, and a plastic guard around the pin to prevent shorting the signal. These are most commonly used in multimeters and power supplies but typically are not rated for high voltage because of the exposed plug. A BNC coaxial connector is typically on one end of probing cables used to connect to an oscilloscope for testing. It is a quick twist connect/disconnect connector, but can also be a threaded lock type. There are male and female versions of the connector, and both have 50 ohm impedance characteristics, which should match with the cable impedances. Unlike banana connectors, the BNC connectors utilize a grounded shield around the live central pin, meaning it carries two separate potentials. 더 읽기 읽기 안 함
