Using a current trigger will turn this triac BTB16-600CRG thyristor manufactured from STMicroelectronics on and applying a forward-biased voltage to it will keep it on. This device has a surge current rating of 168 A. In order to ensure parts aren't damaged by bulk packaging, this product comes in tube packaging to add a little more protection by storing the loose parts in an outer tube.
