Amphenol's SM-UART-04L unit is a laser particle scanner that detects particulate dust levels and assesses air quality. To laser count dust particles, the scanner uses a photo sensor to measure the light scattered by dust particles that pass in front of the laser LED. This method is fast and reliable enough to be suitable for applications as diverse as consumer, commercial, and light industrial air quality monitoring, HVAC systems, and air conditioners. ROHS- and REACH-compliant.
