A display is any technology that allows for the visualization of an input signal. They are often paired with computers or other electronics. Most “flat panel” displays are based on liquid crystal display (LCD), light-emitting diode (LED), or organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology. Flat panel displays have a maximum resolution, which defines the overall number of pixels the display contains. Common display resolutions are 1920 x 1080 (1080p) or 3840 x 2160 (4K). Almost all flat panel displays are in the widescreen aspect ratio: 16:10 or 16:9. Flat panel displays can be driven by a number of cable formats, including component video, composite video, VGA, DVI/HDMI, and Display Port.
