AVX 5G/IoT Application Guide

AVX offers an industry-leading line of advanced components for 5G & IoT applications. In this article, discover the range of capacitors, fuses, varistors, connectors, diodes, antennas, filters, and inductors.

Capacitors

AVX offers four types of capacitors, with varying levels of performance.

Supercapacitors in the SCM and SCC series offer large energy storage capabilities and are ideal for pulse power situations.
Tantalum capacitors are the lowest DCL option, with small case sizes and high-temperature capabilities of up to 230°C.
Niobium Oxide capacitors offer high CVs, low ESRs, and enhanced safety technology.
Polymer capacitors offer the highest voltage capabilities in the industry at over 100Vr.

Fuses

Accu-Guard® and Accu-Guard®II fuses from AVX feature highly accurate current ratings and expected lifetimes of up to 20,000 hours.

Varistors

TransGuard® and AntennaGuard® varistors keep your board safe by rerouting static shock to the ground.

Connectors

The 6791 Series of connectors can help replace traditional RF connector systems. They feature good RF performance of up to 6GHz and an easy assembly process.

Diodes

AVX’s series of GiGuard® TVS diodes are fully IEC 61000-4-2 compliant.

Antennas

With excellent isolation thanks to Isolated Magnetic Dipole™ Technology, plus band switching capability on certain models, AVX IoT antennas allow for adaptable, robust designs. 5G antenna options come in 5G NR Sub-6Ghz or 5G NR mmWave for excellent application coverage.

Filters

Thin Film and Multi-layer Organic RF filters from AVX offer low insertion loss, high rejection, sharp roll-off, and excellent temperature stability.

Inductors

Inductors from AVX, including the Accu-L®, MLO®, and AL Series, feature high Q, low ESR, and high self-resonance frequency.
