Murata’s range of AC-DC converters for healthcare applications offer the most current levels of medical safety agency recognition, in consideration of both the safety of the patient and the operator. They also feature low barrier capacitance to serve the medical application requirement of low leakage current.
The PQU650 series products are rated at 650W employing a “U” channel construction to operate with natural convection or forced airflow and have 6”x4” format capable of providing a continuous 650W output, with a constant current overload characteristic, and 800W “power boost” at output start to deliver transient loads. This compact form factor offers an impressive 450W of natural convection cooled power at +50°C.
With an adjustable main output, plus auxiliary/standby and fan outputs, this technically superior solution can be deployed across multiple market sectors. It is also complemented by safety certification applicable to Medical/Audio/Video/Communication and ITE standards.
- The PQU650 series is ideally suited for:
- • Industrial and medical applications with size constraints
- • ‘No fan’ applications where noise and maintenance are critical
- • In transient load applications that require the PSU to provide high power for short durations
Other applications include, but are not limited to, communications, test equipment, visual signage, broadcast, ATE, stage lighting, PoE and datacoms.
Application Summary
The PQU650 series is commonly implemented in:
- • Medical applications, including hospital beds, diagnosis equipment, ventilators.
- • Industrial applications, including process control, broadcast, Power over Ethernet (PoE), lighting, security, and audio visual (AV).
