STMicroelectronics adds to their large sensor portfolio with two industry-leading pressure sensors now available on Arrow.com: the LPS22HD & LPS33HW. These MEMS sensors provide the functionality of a piezoresistive, absolute pressure sensor with embedded FIFO data management, combined with the efficiency of their ultra-compact packaging. These features are especially useful in altimeter, barometer and sport watch applications.

Both models are similar with regards to functional specs. Their operating pressure range is 260-1260 hPa (100-500 psi), with a maximum overload pressure of 2MPa. The LPS22HD is the smaller of the two products with a mere 2.0 mm 2 footprint and a height of 0.8 mm, which makes it ideal for use in drones. The larger size of the LPS33HW (3.3 x 3.3 x 2.9 mm) accounts for one key feature: the LPS33HW is water resistant.

Whether measuring barometric pressure for your weather station, aiding the GPS of your wearable device or determining altitude in your drone, STMicro’s innovative sensors can stand up to the pressure of whatever you can throw at them.
