Bourns Multifuse MF-PSML: New Long-Life, Low Ohmic PTC Resettable Fuses

Published By

Bourns is a long-time manufacturer of high quality electronics, with products featured in many of today’s technological wonders, including one of the Mars rovers. Their newest product addition is the Multifuse MF-PSML series of low ohmic PTC resettable fuses.

These fuses heat up during overcurrent scenarios, increasing their resistances exponentially and protecting the rest of your system. The MF-PSML series have incredibly low (<0.02 Ω) operating resistance, and their small (0805) footprint and very low profile make them ideal for tight PCB layouts, such as USB port protection in PCs, mobile devices, or other small battery powered products.

The MF-PSML PTC fuse line has a 6 V and 50 A maximum rating, and typically dissipate up to 0.6 W of tripped power. The series offers a choice of 0.75 to 3.5 A hold currents to best suit your design. The symmetrical resettable fuses are surface mounted, making them easily attachable to your system in large-scale automated assemblies. Rated with Class 6 ESD protections, the Multifuse MF-PSML line from Bourns is sure to provide quality, reliable protection to your space-limited solution.
