Panasonic EW: ASQ / ASQM switches by Panasonic

Panasonic Electric Works has expanded the switches family by the new subminiature switch ASQM. The ASQM is based on the 100 millionfold tried and tested turquoise stroke switch ASQ.

With its sliding contact and the compact structure, the ASQM (which conforms to IP67) is the optimal solution for tactile detection tasks in environments where space is limited and conditions are rough. Typically, the ASQM can be used for: Door locking systems for the automotive sector, air conditioning in private households, coffee machines, and many more.

The solder terminal type has a size of 8.3 mm x 5.3 mm x 7.85 mm (LxWxH), the wire leads type at 8.3 mm x 5.3 mm x 13.55 mm allows over travel of 2.2 mm for the NO and NC type.

Sliding contacts means that the contact force does not depend on the actuating path but rather ensures a stable and even contact force across the entire actuating area. Even without actuator, operation from the side is possible at an angle of up to 40°. Of course, types with actuators are also available.

Plating on both sides of the sliding contact guarantees a reliable contact making over the complete current range of 5 V DC / 1 mA up to 16 V DC / 50 mA.
