The advocacy of IoT gives rise to the development of smart lighting with web function. The smart lighting system presented by LiSeng consists of a smart gateway, smart light bulb, and an APP. It can support Jennet-IP or Zigbee protocols; they are based-on standard of IEEE 802.15.4 low output wireless network for the Wireless Home Automation Protocol. Through the gateway that supporting Zigbee compatible wireless communication interface, the device is linked to the router and matched with the network interface supporting Zigbee to adjust the intensity and color of the LED light bulb. In this design, user can just use the smart phone APP or a remote control to control the smart lighting system. With the application of smart socket and switch, users can exert remote control of all home appliances.
LiSeng leverages the IoT chipset by NXP Semiconductors to develop the smart lighting system. The NXP Semiconductors also provides an evaluation kit and Arrow will provide hardware reference design that can help manufacturers interested in smart lighting in product development.
