STMicroelectronics' STEVAL-ILL0704V1: Universal Evaluation Board for Single String LEDs

Published By

STMicroelectronics has released a new selection of evaluation boards for Internet of Things (IoT) applications. The STEVAL-ILL070V4 is one such system that operates a dimmable single string of LEDs based around the HVLED001A, one of STMicroelectronics’ LED driver chips, and the STF10LN80K5 power MOSFET. The board itself has a universal input, which makes it usable worldwide, and an auxiliary connection to supply power to smaller circuits, such as Wi-Fi, Spirit or BLE wireless protocol modules.

The RoHS compliant evaluation board is designed to act as an easy way to power a solution’s LED strings with up to 700 mA, and to test them safely before implementation. At most power loads, including lighter ones, STEVAL-ILL070V4 is quite efficient and has a very high-power factor. For varying voltages, such as surges or overloads, the HVLED001A LED driver has built-in ESD protections for reliability with an auto-restart function that is essential in lighting systems.

If you are developing an IoT solution and fleshing out its LED system, the STEVAL-ILL070V4 is ideal for turning your idea into a reality.
