Murata’s XRC family of hybrid crystal timing devices provides a line-up specifically for automotive applications. Not only are these high grade quartz crystals 40% smaller than the industry norm, but they also offer 30-50% lower ESR (equivalent series resistance) than other units on the market. The XRC series features nominal frequencies at 12 MHz to 24 MHz, a wide operating temperature from -40°C to 125°C, and offers a highly accurate clock necessary for automotive electronic control units (ECUs). In fact, these newly developed high-quality SMD crystal timing devices were designed specifically for automotive applications such as engine electrical control units, ABS or ESC brake ECUs, and electric power steering ECUs.
