Environmental
The ability to easily monitor conditions in our surrounding environment can greatly increase our comfort and quality of life. Specifically designed for the growing number of autonomous IoT systems, the OMRON 2JCIE Environment Sensors measure temperature, humidity, light, UV Index, barometric pressure, noise and acceleration. Despite its compact size, 2JCIE features its own embedded memory for secure data logging. Potential applications include monitoring weather conditions and controlling indoor environments.

The OMRON 2JCIE Sensor is also available as a USB unit measuring just 14.9x29.1x7.0mm and can monitor seismic activity and air quality (VOC gas).

Human vision 
OMRON is a global leader in face recognition technology, opening up an exciting new world in which human-machine interaction is more intelligent and intuitive than ever before. The OMRON HVC-P2 module applies ten different sensing technologies: body, face and hand detection; face direction, gaze, blink, age, gender and expression estimation, and face recognition. The HVC-P2 modules are used in vending and ticketing machines, retail outlets and digital signage. The module is based on OMRON OKAO Vision software, a proven set of image recognition algorithms used in over 500 million digital cameras, mobile phones and surveillance robots around the world.

Light
The B5W-LA and B5W-LB Light Convergent Reflective Sensors are also part of a growing range of OMRON solutions for environmental systems. They are designed to detect objects that are often a challenge for traditional sensors. These include transparent cups and glasses in vending machines, diffuse surfaces that scatter incident light like carpets, black surfaces that absorb light and mirrored surfaces.

The sensor’s convergent light beam can be accurately set to trigger on the presence of an object within a tightly specified target area and ignore any objects in the background or foreground. A typical application is a step detection function in a robot device.

Flow
OMRON was the first sensor manufacturer to apply thermopile technology to measure flow rate. The D6F-50A MEMS Flow Sensors feature two sets of thermopiles located on either side of a tiny heater element. They measure the deviations in heat symmetry caused by gas flowing in either direction. The sensor’s size (1.5 mm x 1.5 mm x 0.4 mm) makes it easy to install in any system.

Pressure
Part of the OMRON MEMS sensor range are also the D6F-PH Differential Pressure Sensors. They use temperature compensation and linear compensation to deliver high accuracy (approximately 3% RD / 25-100% FS). Their high flow impedance reduces the influence of bypass configuration, and the flow path is designed to allow a compact size.

OMRON MEMS Flow and Differential Pressure Sensors are designed for applications where stability and high precision are essential requirements. These include industrial machines like air compressors and HVAC systems, as well as fuel cells.

Temperature
The OMRON D6T Thermal Sensors are based on an IR sensor which enables contactless surface temperature measurement by using a thermopile element that absorbs radiated energy from the target object. Incorporating a state-of-the-art MEMS thermopile, custom designed sensor ASIC and signal processing microprocessor and algorithm into tiny package, the D6T is believed to offer the highest signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) in the industry. The space saving design of the D6T, at only 14 x 8 x 8.93 mm for the largest 32 x 32 element version, makes it exceptionally well suited for temperature detection in a wide range of IoT and other embedded applications.
