ST’s MasterGaN, a world first solution to integrate Si driver and two GaN power transistors in one package, takes the challenge of exploiting the inherent performance of GaN power, achieving in addition reduced system size, cost and design effort, and enhancing robustness, and enables chargers and adapters 80% lighter and 70% smaller, while charging 3 times faster compared to ordinary silicon-based solutions.
