Getting clean clothes in a hurry isn’t an easy task. Washing, drying, and ironing is a time-consuming chore. What if getting a clean shirt was as quick as getting a cup a coffee? That’s why a couple of innovative college students with a desire for a quick path to clean clothes came up with the idea for the TERSA STEAM.
Charlie Warden:
TERSA STEAM is the world’s first wall mounted ten minute clothing care system. We knew we wanted something really simple and efficient and user friendly. So we created a pod system so it could be easy as pick, plug, press.
Through the Arrow Certification Program we got to collaborate with great engineers not only from Arrow but from great companies like TE Connectivity. The first thing they did was overview our bill of materials and provide three or four quick solutions to the problems that we were having that could make our product function better. Unfortunately, we had some knowledge gaps that the Arrow Certification Program really helped us fill. Joining was huge because it afforded us that credibility that I know backers look for.
Chris Eppers:
Arrow digital engineers started looking at all levels of their design from top to bottom including the sensors and interconnect. From there, working with TE Connectivity and their specialists, we were able to recommend several components that would allow them to create a reliable product.
First choice was the RZ Series PCB Power Relay. Since the steamer goes through several different stages, this relay needed to be reliable and be able to step through each of those processes for Tersa.
The second product was the Temperature and Humidity sensor. We needed to have the ability to measure both temperature and humidity in one small device. From there, it also has the ability to take digital data, so you can capture all your data to control the process throughout this steamed environment.
Charlie Warden:
From Day one we’ve had one principal contact that we could call day or night and she’s helped guide us through this process.
Chris Eppers:
Tersa has allowed us to make recommendations that are really helping them create a production ready product.
Getting a prototype to market can provide many obstacles for entrepreneurs. Indiegogo and the Arrow Certification Program will help guide you through the process and get your product to market fast.
