USB Type-C connectors support a variety of different protocols, and with the use of adaptors, they are backwards compatible to HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, and other types of connections from the single USB Type-C port. TE Connectivity’s USB Type-C connectors support USB 2.0, USB 3.1 Gen 1, and USB 3.1 Gen 2 and can deliver up to 100 W at 20 V. The USB Type-C range of connectors is available in IPX8 waterproof and IPX4 splash-proof options. TE Connectivity USB Type-C connectors incorporate a specialized design to help improve EMI performance and offer data transfer rates of up to 10 Gbps. The range of connectors is available in one of the smallest dual-row surface-mount footprints, which, in turn, helps reduce the size of designs. These connectors feature a flappable and reversible mating interface, so cables can be inserted in either orientation.
