AD4130-8: 32 μA, Ultra Low Power, 24-Bit Sigma-Delta ADC with Integrated PGA and FIFO

The AD4130-8 is an ultra-low power, high precision, measurement solution for low bandwidth battery-operated applications.

The fully integrated AFE of the AD4130-8 includes a multiplexer for up to 16 single-ended or 8 differential inputs, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), 24-bit sigma-delta ADC, on-chip reference and oscillator, selectable filter options, smart sequencer, sensor biasing and excitation options, diagnostics, and newly added features to improve the battery-operated lifetime (more than 5 years on a coin cell) and automated duty cycling.

Key Features and Benefits

  • Lifetime greater than 5 years on a coin cell battery
  • System on chip in smallest WLCSP 2.74 mm x 3.6 mm packaging
  • Capable of autonomous measurements to minimize the workload of the microcontroller and system power

Applications

  • Industrial Automation: Smart transmitters, temperature measurement (thermocouple, RTD, thermistors), pressure measurement (bridge transducers) auxiliary ADC
  • Instrumentation and Measurement: Environmental monitoring
  • Healthcare: Vital sign monitoring
  • Consumer: Wireless battery and harvester powered sensor nodes

Evaluation Board

The AD4130-8 can be evaluated with the EVAL-AD4130-8WARDZ.
