Amphenol Advanced Sensors: Miniature Barometric Pressure Sensor for Wearable/Portable Application

Amphenol Advanced Sensors is a leading innovator in advanced sensing technologies and innovative embedded measurement solutions customized for regulatory and industry driven applications. NovaSensor, a brand of Amphenol Advanced Sensor, announces the release of the NPA-201 barometer/pressure sensor.

Amphenol Advanced Sensors consists of product brands Thermometrics, NovaSensor and Telaire which have been industry leaders for over 70 years.

NovaSensor offers best in class MEMS Pressure sensors for applications in the healthcare, transportation and industrial markets. NovaSensor is a leader in the design, modelling and fabrication of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) for high performance and cost effective pressure measurement solutions.

The NPA-201 at its heart is a customized version of the popular NPA series in that it has a custom pressure range of 260 to 1260 mBar, with a temperature compensated, digital (I²C) output in a small industry standard 8 pin HCLGA package. This device can be powered with a 1.7 to 3.6V power supply, and sleep rate current is <250nA, making it ideal for wearable and portable applications.

Like Most HCLGA packages, this device can be hard to prototype as the blind solder pads are difficult to solder, so NovaSensor has also released the NPA-201EV breakout board. The breakout board allows users to quickly evaluate the NPA-201 sensor for their application, before needing to have a small amount of custom bread boards made. The NPA-201EV breakout board will allow your project to go to market quicker.

Thermometrics provides temperature measurement solutions to a wide range of sectors including healthcare, automotive and industrial applications. Thermometrics’ temperature technologies include high accuracy NTC thermistors, PTC heaters, IR and custom design capabilities.

Telaire offers a range of CO2, relative humidity and temperature sensors and transmitters for HVAC control and indoor air quality applications in the built environment, automotive and industrial markets. Telaire offers a range of OEM CO2 modules with lifetime calibration warranty, CO2 instruments and transmitters.
