Discover the powerful portfolio of high voltage power MOSFETs CoolMOS™, low voltage power MOSFETs OptiMOS™, AC-DC integrated power stage CoolSET™ , voltage regulators, gate driver IC 2EDN EiceDRIVER™ , CoolSiC™ diode generation 5 and PFC-CCM controllers for all your industrial robot power needs.
Infineon’s solution brings highest efficiency and reliability to your power management system for industrial robotics. It secures reliable and safe system operations of your robot even in harsh environments. As shrinking the size of the control boxes becomes more and more important it’s obvious to concentrate on a small form factor of the devices used in those control boxes. Infineon’s highly integrated semiconductor solutions for power management enable highest power density and thereby help to continuously shrink the form factor of the control units.

Discover the powerful portfolio of high voltage power MOSFETs CoolMOS™, low voltage power MOSFETs OptiMOS™, AC-DC integrated power stage CoolSET™ , voltage regulators, gate driver IC 2EDN EiceDRIVER™ , CoolSiC™ diode generation 5 and PFC-CCM controller. With these products Infineon supports the trend towards a significantly higher efficiency level. Outstanding performance improvements in SMPS achieved in the past 10 years have been primarily brought by the dramatic reduction of the on-resistance achieved in high voltage MOSFETs, using the revolutionary superjunction principle. This principle was introduced by Infineon at the end of the nineties in the CoolMOS™ series and equally impressive improvements in reverse-recovery characteristics of high voltage SiC (Silicon Carbide) diodes.
Requirements for industrial power supply:
› Efficiency: Reduction of overall system energy consumption, optimized thermal management
› Reliability: Reliable operating in harsh environments and avoiding system down time
› Maintenance: Low maintenance and high lifetime of components
› Size & Cost: Reduction of overall system size and cost
Infineon‘s high reliable CoolMOS™ P6 and C7 series are the perfect match for the use in industrial power management systems, as used for powering industrial robotics. We propose 600 V CoolMOS™ C7 with the lowest FOM RDS(on) *QG and RDS(on) *Eoss. This provides the lowest switching losses for fast switching SMPS, optimizing the efficiency starting from very light load operation. With a 29% lower RDS(on) than the nearest competitor, like in the TO-220 (IPP65R045C7), the CoolMOS™ C7 technology brings leading power density benefits. The very compact SMD packages, such as SuperSO8, offer benefits in space and power density and are used with Infineon’s new industry standard non-isolated driver family 2EDN8524F . Complementary to 600 V CoolMOS™ C7 in high efficiency PFC is the 650 V CoolSIC™ Gen 5 (IDH02G65C5).

The 600 V CoolMOS™ P6 family offers a good compromise between price and performance. This is valuable in both PFC and HV DC-DC stages where the low QG and turn-off losses are important benefits, especially in the case of high switching frequency operation and high light load efficiency requirements.
The IPP60R190P6 from the P6 series brings balance between efficiency and ease-of-use for superior efficiency. In applications with a low output voltage and high output current, further efficiency improvements have been made possible by the continuous reduction of on-resistance by Infineon’s low voltage OptiMOS™ MOSFET series used in the synchronous rectification stage. With the OptiMOS™ 5 40 V (BSC026N04LS) and 60 V (BSC034N06NS ) power MOSFETs Infineon offers a dramatically reduced RDS(on) in SuperSO8 package. Dramatically reduced gate charge and output charge enable high system efficiency and power density.
AC-DC integrated power stage – CoolSET™: The off-line SMPS current mode controller ICs are integrating 650 V (ICE3RBR1765JG ) or 800 V (ICE3AR2280JG ) CoolMOS™ and start-up cell in DIP-8 and DIP-7 package. It has more robust design and can work from -40°C to +130°C. The controller is using BiCMOS technology which can reduce power consumption, together with the active burst mode, it can achieve <100 mW low standby power. The IC also integrates built-in frequency jitter and soft gate driving, it helps improve EMI performance. The built-in blanking window with extendable blanking time for short duration is useful for short time peak power requirement. The high current propagation delay compensation can ensure stable power output during high/low line inputs. Besides, there are several more outstanding features integrated in the IC, like built-in soft start time, external auto-restart enable feature, auto restart protection mode for overload, open loop, VCC under voltage, over temperature & over voltage, etc.
