The STMicroelectronics STEVAL-ISB044V1: Complete Wireless Charger Evaluation Board

Published By

Wireless inductive charging is becoming the cornerstone of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and is prevalent in products like the new iPhone X. The STEVAL-ISB044V1 is the newest in evaluation board technology for those developing wireless charging systems and is manufactured by STMicroelectronics. The evaluation board is WPC Qi 1.2.3 compliant, and designed around STMicroelectronics’ STWBC-EP wireless charging controller.

The STEVAL-ISB044V1 is ideal for high power, wirelessly-charged electronics, such as smartphones, with up to a 15W output and accurate power control with the STWBC-EP. A robust demodulation algorithm breaks down voltage, current and inductive frequency and acts as the main brain of the STEVAL-ISB044V1. This works in conjunction with the board’s integrated circuit, as well as the associated STWBC-EP firmware and development tools to assess the wireless system in question. With a slew of other features, like foreign object and active presence detection, the STEVAL-ISB044V1 is the perfect tool to evaluate any wireless charging system for high-powered IoT devices.
