Motor Control
Infineon serves all types of industrial robots regardless of their payload and size. Its dedicated solutions for motor control include IGBTs and IPM solutions which allow a high level of integration, power density, and efficiency. These are the best fit for medium to high payload robots.

The 32bit microcontroller features an integrated ARM® Cortex®-M4 CPU with a frequency of up to 144MHz and offers a comprehensive set of flexible timers for precise motor control and current sensing. It is the industry’s first ever MCU integrating an EtherCAT® node, which enables the most compact and cost efficient designs.
Radar

Safety
Safety is crucial for collaborative robots. As a solution, Infineon offers its linear hall sensors for torque measurement in a robot arm. The advantage of this solution comes from the “dual die” concept: the sensor houses two galvanic isolated dies which allows redundancy in the signal generation, thereby ensuring the safest and most reliable designs in the robotic environment. In addition, Infineon’s angle sensors and hall latches are ideally suited for precise sensing of the rotor’s position. The hall latches feature precise magnetic thresholds (±2 mT) enabling smooth torque. Infineon angle sensors can detect the absolute orientation of a magnetic field between 0 and 360 degrees.
