New High-Performance Fiber Optic Transceivers from Formerica OE

Formerica Optoelectronics (OE) is a leading manufacturer of fiber optic transceivers for big data transfer applications. With two new transceiver options, the 10-Gigabit TAS-ATH1-P11 and the 100-Gigabit TQS-Q14H9-J82, Formerica OE looks to revolutionize high-performance computing (HPC) with small form factors and high efficiency data transfer capabilities. A low (2 W, typ.) power consumption rounds out the 3.3 V pluggable modules.

The TAS-ATH1-P11 is a 10-Gigabit transceiver module. With a duplex LC receptacle, the fiber optic unit can transfer data up to 33 m on OM1 fibers, 82 m on OM2 and 300 m on OM3 at 2000 MHz-km. The unit sports a low (<800 mW) power dissipation and also features in-module digital diagnostics for easy upkeep of your HPC system.

The TQS-Q14H9-J82 is a 100-Gigabit transceiver module. The module features an aggregated four lanes for 70 m of OM3 or 100 m of OM4. Compliant with 100G Ethernet IEEE 802.3bm and SFF-8665 Rev. 1.8, the TQS transceiver uses standard 12/8 optical fiber lanes, making it easily integrable into Infiniband EDR, FDR or QDR systems, as well as large HPC interconnections.
