Enabling Seamless Ethernet to the Field with 10BASE-T1L Connectivity

Introduced on November 7, 2019, 10BASE-T1L is a new Ethernet physical layer standard. It’s projected to solve longstanding issues with the use of Ethernet in the field of process automation.

10BASE-T1L, also known as IEEE 802.3cg-2019, will be transformative to the process and facility automation industry. Historically, ethernet was difficult to use in these applications due to power and bandwidth issues. Cabling constraints, distance limits, hungry gateways, and challenges in intrinsically safe applications have all also limited Ethernet adoption. 10BASE-T1L, however, has solved these problems and will allow for new insights and higher performance than has ever been possible. Click through to the article for a detailed look at the components and technologies that make 10BASE-T1L possible.
