An Overview of the STMicroelectronics LPS33HW Water-Resistant MEMS Pressure Sensor

Learn more about the features and benefits of the water-resistant STMicroeletronics LPS33HW MEMS pressure sensor.

The STMicroelectronics LPS33HW is the latest generation of high-performance water-resistant MEMS pressure sensors specifically designed for wearables, industrial equipment, and utility meters. The LPS33HW is an ultra-compact piezoresistive pressure sensor that functions as a digital output barometer. The device comprises a sensing element and an IC interface which communicates through I2C or SPI from the sensing element to the application.

The LPS33HW is resistant to water and chemicals like chlorine, bromine and saltwater, making it an ideal solution for use in a pool or the ocean. It’s also resistant to soaps and detergents. In addition to use in underwater wearables, the LPS33HW is also designed for use in portable altimeters and barometers, GPS applications, weather station equipment and Industry 4.0 sensors. Learn more about the LPS33HW in this video and data-sheet from STMicroelectronics.
