We are very excited to be working with MikroElectronika, especially because we have been able to get our hands on the Raspberry Pi 3 Click Shield, which is the focus of this NPI video.
MikroElektonika’s Raspberry Pi 3 Click Shield is actually not very exciting by itself, as it is just a PCB with some connectors and an analog-to-digital converter… so what’s the big deal? The click shield enables the Raspberry Pi 3 to connect to the ever-increasing number of MikroE Click Board add-on boards. In any case, their over 300 different miniature shields have the exact same pin-out configuration, meaning that any of them can be used with your click shield, and ultimately used with your Raspberry PI 3. This means that you can easily implement just about any sensor or transceiver you can imagine onto your Raspberry Pi 3 quickly and without any soldering at all.
The MikroE click board ecosystem consists of anything from voice recognition to RFiD to an ozone sensor, to relays, to biosensors, a weather shield, and hundreds more of everything in between.
This product seriously opens the door for a multitude of different Raspberry PI 3 applications that will either help you in application prototyping or just help you create that nifty little device you have always dreamed of. The MikroE Click shield for Raspberry Pi is one extremely flexible accessory that opens up your board to hundreds, and soon to be thousands of different peripheral boards from MikroE.
