- Expanding the amount of data memory used by the microcontroller is the easiest form of memory expansion. Because there is no possibility of interfering with program execution, timing is not as critical. General purpose I/O lines can be connected directly to the address lines or chip enables of the memory devices. The appropriate port pin can be directly modified to access the correct page prior to the memory operation
