The Arrow High-Speed Data Acquisition Kit is a complete development platform for creating solutions which incorporate the space-saving high-speed GSPS JESD204B serial interface.

It features Analog Devices’ GSPS data converters and Intel’s Arria 10 FPGA communicating across 4 serial lanes at speeds up to 40GSPS, and includes all of the timing and power components required to both develop solutions and demonstrate the capabilities of JESD204B.

With sampling speeds of up to 1GSPS, this is the ideal platform for applications requiring the capturing and transportation of large amounts of data. A one-year license for all IP and tools is included so that the user can begin development immediately.

The AD-FMCDAQ2-EBZ module is a high-speed Digital-to-Analog Converter and an Analog-to-Digital Converter that provides high-performance data acquisition. It is designed to be self-sufficient meaning no clocking and no external power supply or signal generator. ADI has also provided the HDL code, the software driver, the Operating System, and the GUI.

ADI’s FMC main features are the AD9680 and the AD9144 providing high-speed sampling rates and its AD9523-1, which is a 14-output low jitter clock generator.

AD9680-1000 ADC:

   • 1.0 GSPS (Giga-samples-per-second)
   • 14-Bit Dual ADC
   • JESD204B (subclass 1) 4-lane coded serial digital outputs
   • SFDR: 80 dBc at 1GHz AIN, 1.0 GSPS
   • Noise Density: -154 dBFS/Hz @ 1.0 GSPS
   • 2GHz of usable analog input full power bandwidth
   • Two integrated DDCs per channel

AD9144:

   • 2.8 GSPS
   • 16-Bit Quad DAC
   • JESD204B (subclass 1) coded serial digital outputs
   • Supports complex signal and widths up to 800MHz
   • 6-carrier GSM IMD = 75 dBc at 75MHz IF
   • SFDR = 85 dBc (BW= 300 MHz) at DC IF
   • Selectable 2x, 4x, 8x interpolation filters

Applications with the AD-FMCDAQ-EBZ board include electronic test and measurement equipment, automated test equipment, point to point communication systems, radar systems, ultra-wideband satellite receivers, signal intelligence (SIGINT), multiple input/multiple output (MIMO) radios, general-purpose software radios, and DOCSIS 3.0 CMTS and HFC networks.

The Intel Arria 10 GX FPGA Development Kit provides the user a complete design environment that includes all the hardware and software to use the performance and capabilities of the Arria 10 GX FPGAs for your design needs. It will be compatible with ADI’s AD-FMCDAQ-EBZ board.

Hardware:

   • Arria 10 GX FPGA development board running on Arria 10 GX 10AX115S2F45I1SG2 FPGA
   • 2GB DDR4 SDRAM, 2GB DDR3 SDRAM, and RLDRAM3 (16 Meg x 36) daughtercards
   • Two FMC loopback cards supporting transceiver, LVDS and single-ended I/Os
   • One quad small-from-factor pluggable (QSFP) and one SFP+ port
   • Two FMC low-pin count (LPC + 15 transceivers) connector
   • PCIe x8 edge connector
   • Serial digital interface (SDI) channel
   • Character LCD
   • AC adapter power cables
   • Ethernet and USB cables

With this FPGA development kit, you’ll be able to:

   • Develop and test PCI Express (PCIe) 3.0 designs using the PCI-SIG-compliant development board
   • Develop and test memory subsystems consisting of DDR4, DDR3, QDR IV, and RLDRAM III memories
   • Develop modular and scalable designs by using the FPGA mezzanine card (FMC) connectors to interface to a FMC provided by Intel partners and supporting protocols.

Cable Assembly

Cables are included, consisting of an Amphenol cable assembly SMA to SMA and an Amphenol cable assembly RJ-45 to RJ-45. This provides full connection between the FMC module and the FPGA board.
