The third generation of the Raspbery Pi. The Raspberry Pi 3 specs include a 1.2Ghz 64-bit quad-core ARM processor and added 802.11n Wireless LAN, Bluetooth 4.1 and Bluetooth Low Energy.
It looks just like the Raspberry Pi 2, but the Pi3 is the easiest upgrade you've ever seen in a product. It's the same low price and runs on the same operating systems, albeit on a more powerful core, as the 2. There shouldn't be much pain in transferring over projects that you have already done on the 2.
The giant upgrade is onboard connectivity. The 2 could be connected to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth using USB dongles, but the 3 bakes it right into the hardware. This means no more buying and debugging a dongle and you get those USB ports back for other peripherals. The Raspberry Pi Foundation was founded 8 years ago with a simple goal, to put affordable programmable hardware in the hands of those that want to learn. With thousands of Pi based project tutorials online and millions of these $35 computers sold, I'd say they're succeeding.
