G9KBは、蓄電装置からの充電と放電の電力を確実かつ安全に切り替えることが求められる再生可能エネルギー市場の次の段階に対するオムロンの対応の一環です。
G9KB（DC 600V/50A）は、接点付近に配置された永久磁石の磁力を利用してアークを「引き伸ばす」オムロンのアークカットオフテクノロジー（CAE）を採用しています。このため、このリレーは、太陽光パネルからの電気を使用して電気自動車を充電する場合など、パワーコンディショナーや家庭規模の再生可能エネルギーシステム内でのアプリケーションに最適です。
また、次世代の車両対家庭（V2H）および車両対グリッド（V2G）充電システムにも適しています。
