We created these four Arrow dev boards and kits to give you the tools to master embedded IoT design. We break them down by features and applications so you can find the right fit for your next project.

ARIS

Features

The ARIS board offers an out-of-the-box IoT development environment that is also based on Renesas Synergy™. It is built on a Renesas S7GT MCU and integrates a 240 MHz ARM Cortex-M4 embedded processor. This board is not lacking in the memory and storage department; it has 512 MB Serial Flash and 256 MB SDRAM, as well as an extra microSD card slot.

Applications

This is a great board for sensing capabilities, as it has a three-axis acceleration sensor and two-axis gyroscope to provide information on the board’s position and movement, which you can control via an SPI connection. It also has a thermal and humidity sensor that can be activated with the device’s I2C interface.

 

ARIS EDGE

Features

ARIS EDGE is based on a Renesas Synergy S1 MCU with a 32-MHz ARM Cortex-MO+ core. It enables cloud connectivity with support for Bluetooth Low Energy 4.1/4.2, Thread, and ZigBee via a flexible multi-protocol radio module.

Applications

With the ARIS EDGE board, you can draw on the feature-rich Renesas Synergy platform to prototype dynamic IoT applications. This Renesas ecosystem emphasizes some of the top concerns developers have when designing for IoT: connectivity, standard interfaces, and security. Plus, its simplified interface reduces design time.The board is great for smart sensing, especially motion detection, environmental temperature sensing, humidity measurement, and ambient light sampling.

 

DragonBoard™ 410c

Features

The DragonBoard™ 410c is a powerhouse embedded system development tool that features a Quad-core 1.2Ghz ARM® Cortex® and is capable of 32-bit and 64-bit operation. Add microprocessor-based functionality to your IoT applications with a board no bigger than a credit card.

Applications

The DragonBoard™ gives you a wealth of connectivity options with support for Bluetooth, Android 5.1, Linux based on Debian, WLAN, and GPS. Thanks to the board’s Qualcomm® Adreno™ 360 GUP, an integrated ISP with up to 13 MP camera support, and 1080p HD video playback and capture, DragonBoard™ 410c is ideal particularly well suited to multimedia applications.  Please note that Android is pre-installed on Dragonboard 410c but is not commercially supported by the Snapdragon 410E. Additionally, Debian is Linaro's test build while Open Embedded is the commercial build for Linux. 

 

SF2+ Development Kit

Features

SF2+ has a Microsemi SmartFusion™2 SoC FPGA that allows you to add functions such as PCIe GEN2 control plane, image processing, I/O expansion, and bridging to your design. The kit is also features advanced security processing accelerators and embedded nonvolatile memory to secure valuable data. SF2+ features a Timberwolf™ audio processor as well, for applications requiring low-power, hands-free communications.

Applications

The SF2+ Development Kit is a high-performing resource for home automation, industrial, military and medical applications. It offers multiple functionalities on a single chip—great for both software and hardware engineers.
