TE Connectivity strives to help turn ideas into reality with their robust connection options and wide catalog of sensors. Their new AmbiMate MS4 series offers just that — a multi-faceted sensor board with several ways to integrate the board into your Internet of Things (IoT) system. With a base core of temperature, humidity, light and PIR motion sensing, as well as the possibility for volatile organic compound (VOC), sound and CO2 sensors, the TE AmbiMate MS4 will surely be an effective addition to your system.
TE Connectivity’s AmbiMate MS4’s sensory system can provide easy-to-use, accurate measurements for your solution. The temperature sensor spans a 5 to 50 oC range with a ±0.3 oC accuracy and a 1 sec. acquisition rate. Similarly, the humidity sensor reads between 5 and 95% relative humidity with 2% accuracy and a 1 sec. acquisition rate. The ambient light level sensor also has a 1 sec. refresh rate. The passive infrared motion (PIR) sensor is interrupt-driven and has a less than 0.5 sec. response time. The optional VOC sensor measures between 0 and 1187 ppb of potentially harmful airborne gasses with a 60 sec. acquisition rate. The optional microphone receives sounds similarly to the PIR sensor with an interrupt driven, <0.5 sec. response. The optional CO2 sensor operates like the VOC sensor, reading a CO2 equivalent of 400 to 8192 ppm over a 60 second read time.
The MS4 series also has three different options for board connections: castellation, vertical header and plated through hole. Check out the table below to see how to order the layout that works for your design.
TE’s new AmbiMate MS4 is an adaptable sensor board that can influence a variety of applications, such as workspace comfort solutions or other IoT automation systems.
