Engineer Product Picks - Relays

Publié par

Hi I’m Kristen with Arrow.com and today we’re going to take a look at this month’s product picks, with an emphasis on relays. Although they have a long history in electronics, relays are still constantly improving in performance and reliability with the development of new materials and technology. It’s worth checking out the latest in relays to keep your products and production up-to-date. So, let’s get started with this month’s product picks.

G3VM High Current MOSFET Relay from Omron

Omron recently expanded their G3VM Series of MOSFET relays to include the 60V load voltage “61GR2”.

This high current MOSFET relay is capable of switching a continuous load current of 1.7 A with a low 80 mΩ ON resistance. The compact solid state relay is offered in a 4-pin SOP package with surface mount terminals and it’s available in tape and reel packaging to allow for easy placement in production. This high current MOSFET relay was designed for applications in semiconductor test equipment, data loggers, and communications equipment.

CL Series Panel Mount Solid State Relay from Crydom

After over 40 years in production, Crydom recently redesigned their CL Series of panel mount solid state relays. The new 4th generation line features upgraded materials and technology, setting a new high standard for SSR performance and reliability. With 5-10 A rated triac ouputs, the CL Series excels with fast-switching high inrush loads. And, compared to traditional back-to-back SCRs, this series outperforms for instantaneous turn on outputs. Featuring a fully redesigned housing, Crydom’s CL Series offers an LED status indicator, anti-rotation barriers and an epoxy-free design, as well as improved SEMS, or “preasSEMbled” screws and washers which increase assembly speed and efficiency because the fasteners are combined into a single component. The 4th generation solid state relay series offers AC or DC control and is UL approved and CE and RoHS compliant.

PA-N Series Power Relays for PLCs from Panasonic Electric Works

Panasonic’s PA-N Series of slim power relays was developed specifically for PLCs and interfaces and therefore complies with IEC and UL standards for industrial programmable logic controllers. They meet the new, stricter IEC safety standard (IEC 61010) for reinforced insulation and even have a modified internal structure allowing the relays to achieve a high breakdown voltage of 3,000V. These 1 Form A, 5A slim relays feature low power consumption and excellent shock resistance. With their compact size, the PA-N relays allow for higher density mounting. Ideal applications include test equipment and measuring devices, industrial and office equipment, and as output relays for programmable controllers, sensors, timers and counters.

And there you have it for this month’s product picks! Hopefully I brought your attention to some of the latest and greatest relays on the market that you can incorporate into your next solution. Check back soon for more featured products from Arrow.com.
